I was thinking that as well but they are really expensive already. At least compared to the first weeks big_smile Could get about 350 gems for 1g back then, now it's about 200. And looks like it just keeps climbing.

Some info about nicer drops in dungeons:

Robert Hrouda wrote:

While I certainly don’t like to jump the gun on making claims, our next patch SHOULD include a newly developed reward system for people who couldn’t make it to the end that should alleviate a bit of this “walking away with nothing” feeling you have.
Personally, I love that my content kills players and challenges them. I feel pretty kitteny though when my content beats someone into the ground and takes their lunch money. I at least want you to walk away with something more than a repair bill and some random blues, and folks here are working on that very thing.
That being said, our next patch SHOULD contain some revamped loot drops from bosses that have the chance of giving small token rewards (among other things), which should help alleviate that.

Robert Hrouda wrote:

We’ve talked about saving progress in dungeons, and it’s currently on a list of things for our tech-priests to look into. There’s no code to support it right now, but it is something we’re exploring the possibilities of.

I say /should/ in my post because they are assumptions. Our current plan is to roll out new loot stuff for dungeons next path, and I assume it will get done since I’m pretty vocal about it, and I know the people working on it, and trust them to have it done and tested in time.
And I assume players will like better loot drops with token potential on bosses. We’ll evaluate the system with some play tests and see how we feel, and of course your feedback here on the forums will help us in fixing/adjusting things as well.

Tried it this morning, easy setup and seems to be working great. I guess an extra security measure to keep you account safe. All in all a good thing i think.

So what if you have just a regular outdated phone? This cant work?
I was never fan of those phones, never really found use for it. And I for sure not going to buy one just because of this.
I would love to have authenticator but why cant they offer physical authenticator like they have in wow, cant be that much of an issue.
I am pretty sure I am not the only one, so lets hope they ll offer that as well.

I'm sure they will, this was just probably the fastest way for them to get an authenticator in place, since it uses google authenticator which is a ready made solution.

A number of the activities/mini-games are things we decided to table for a while in favor of focusing on features and areas we felt were more important for the game. That being said, if you like activities, make sure to stop in and visit during the big Halloween festivities running from Oct 22nd-Nov1st!

In the short-term we’re currently focused on adding a massive wealth of additional content and features for players to do in the game using the players core skill-bar, which you’ll start seeing in the Shadow of the Mad King update in October as well as our massive November release.

Long term we’ll absolutely be adding more activities as well, but we want to make sure we’ve got loads of stuff to do at level 80 in PvP, WvW, and PvE using your characters core skill-bar first and foremost, and we’re dedicating our focus in that area. Down the road, we’ll continue to expand on the scope of activities available in the game as well.

Well, the thread was about minigames etc, I assume core bar is your class bar instead of using some minigame / item specific skills.

Happy Halloween! Let the trick-or-treating begin. The “Mad Kings” have dusted off their costumes and are taking to the stage, telling their jokes to make the children laugh. It’s a lighthearted holiday, and only children truly believe that the spirit of Mad King Thorn once appeared in Tyria. No one has actually reported seeing him in over two centuries. These days, he’s nothing more than a tale told to make children squeal and behave.

But, paranormal activity in Tyria is on the rise, and Durmand Priory scholars have taken notice. They’re not sure what’s going on, but they aim to find out! Something’s not right.

From October 22 through November 1, Tyria is under the shadow of the Mad King. The weeklong event will unfold in four acts, each introducing new content to explore and experience, including decorations for Tyria and the Mists, minigames, Halloween-specific dynamic events, holiday crafting recipes, and mind-blowing jumping puzzles.

Join us on October 31 (midday, Pacific Time), when we’ll celebrate the holiday pinnacle with a bang!

This is the premiere holiday release for Guild Wars 2, and we’re blasting out of the gate! Visit Lion’s Arch to begin digging into the Halloween content.

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/i … -Beta-Test

Martin Kerstein wrote:

We’re ready to beta test a change to our FOV (Field of View) that should provide a better experience for those with widescreen monitors. We want your feedback about the change to help us decide whether to deploy it to all players.

To help test, you’ll need to add a special command line to your GW2 client’s shortcut. Here’s how:

1) Create a shortcut to your GW2 client (right-click -> “Create Shortcut”)
2) Right-click the GW2 client shortcut
3) Click “Properties”
4) Locate text field labeled “Target.”
It should contain the file path of your shortcut, and will look something like this:C:\Games\Gw2\Gw2.exe
5) Type -testVerticalFov at the end of the Target line
Be sure to include a space between .exe and -test.
The line should look like this: C:\Games\Gw2\Gw2.exe -testVerticalFov
Please note that your Target line may or may not have quotation marks. If it does have quotation marks, this tag should go outside of them. So it will look like this:
“C:\Games\Gw2\Gw2.exe” -testVerticalFov
6) Once the command line has been added, click Apply -> OK.
7) That’s it! Jump in and play with this new setting, and post your feedback in the following thread: https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/s … post551648

If at any time you want to return to the old FOV, simply remove the –testVerticalFov from your target line and it’ll return to normal.

There is a bug in the game currently that shows smaller field of view for widescreen monitors than intented, so this should be the fix for it.
